Meet The Owner

Growing up, my family would always have me massage them. Being my father's daughter, I am naturally very strong. My mom and brother LOVE deep tissue massage, and without schooling, I naturally and from experience got to master the art of massage.

By high school freshman year, I had 2-3 clients in math class, and about the same in drama. Never for money, of course. I just loved to do bodywork. I looked into it as a career, but their statistics of length in the industry and income had me doubtful that this was the path for me, if I wanted to create a family.

I love marketing and am very independent, so I went to Shasta College for a few years while working four jobs willingly. But after taking a break from college and settling down to focus on 1-2 jobs, I started some critical thinking about my future. I was exerting my energy towards industries I wasn't passionate about. I love to work, but I could have been using all my energy towards something I can call my own and gives me the responsibility I crave. I wanted to build an empire.

In October 2013, I went to the CASA Superhero Run to support abused and neglected children. Following the run, I saw free chair massages and waited in line for one. I started asking the lady questions: Where did you get your schooling done? “Marinello Schools of Beauty.” Do you like your job? “Yes, it's rewarding and fun.” Do you make enough to make your life comfortable and happy? “Yes.” That settled it. I signed up for my massage therapy program at Marinello and started in January 2014.

I started my business, Jordan Fisher's Therapeutic Massage, in August 2014, immediately following graduation. After four years, being the newly wedded Mrs. Jordan Valenzuela, I decided to expand my family and business. My old sole proprietorship ended, and I created Shasta Strong Massage and Wellness, LLC on Hartnell Avenue in Redding.

As we grew from 1-2 team members in 2019, to 3-4 team members and new cosmetology services added in 2020, we were advertising everywhere about our new day spa services.

At a health fair at Win-River Resort and Casino, while team members represented Shasta Strong at the booth, I was able to network with the other businesses. I also decided to do some market research and check out the Win-River Spa, but it was locked. I went to their front desk and asked when they would open, to which they replied that they were looking for a third party vendor. I said "you need to speak to me." So I took a card for the head of hospitality, and called and left a voicemail that day. No answer. I waited a week and left another voicemail. Still no answer.

Then, an opportunity arose. I am an active participant at Redding Chamber of Commerce, and Win-River was hosting a Greeters at Seasons restaurant in the casino. So, there I went and during the Q&A portion, I was able to ask for the attention of the head of hospitality, who was present with all other staff. I asked, in front of everyone, "What are your intentions with the spa?" He confirmed they are looking for a third-party to occupy the spa. I said "I would love to talk to you about that." He told me to come find him at the hotel front desk afterwards. So, I went to the front desk, and he got preoccupied with other work and was unable to meet at that time. So, I emailed him. To which they replied that they were speaking to another company currently and were uninterested at the time. A few days later, before I responded, another email came through and I was asked to meet with the managers to tour the spa.

From there, I pushed for an early move-in date to July 1, 2021, and the managers granted this request. Moving to this ideal location has been crucial in building the team and clientele to become a very successful business. My business investment is something that has given back to my community and is finally starting to benefit my family. Because why do I do this, if not for my family and community?

My husband, Zakari, and daughter Anabelle (6 years old), have been the blessings at home that make life wholesome. But we wanted another for our developing "empire." So we welcomed baby Niko in early August 2019. As our babies are growing, so is my business. Expansion can be scary, but we don't grow when we stay inside our comfort zone.

People in the community decided to recognize me for my hard efforts. I was awarded the "Rising Star" award at the Redding Chamber of Commerce Legends and Leaders Gala for 2021.

I also have recently started Elemental Faery Productions, a cirque production originating in beautiful Redding, CA. Your destination location for entertainment! More on this to come.

As I develop more success as a leader, I feel a sense of responsibility to take care of my community for the local businesses and families that reside here. Using my leadership, business knowledge and experience, and love for my community, I have decided to campaign to run for Redding City Council. The election is November 8, 2022 and I hope to do my best for my city in whatever ways I can play my part.

I am a passionate mother, athlete, bodywork professional, and creator. I have exceptional goals and ambitions. And even if I don't meet them all, I never want to stop learning and growing my empire.
